SWD 1929R Quik-Shield ® ACRYLIC ELASTOMERIC COATING
DESCRIPTION:
SWD 1929R Quik-Shield ® is a high solids, heat resistant, water based elastomeric coating material made from 100% ACRYLIC POLYMERS. It is specifically designed to protect sprayed rigid polyurethane foam used as insulation on roofs and storage tanks from degradation caused by normal weather, aging and ultraviolet exposure.
CHARACTERISTICS:
EXCELLENT ADHESION: To rigid polyurethane foam, concrete masonry, wood and metal.
MOISTURE PROOF:
Not vapor proof. Perm rating of 3.5 allows the dried film to "breathe," allowing vapor movement and preventing pressure buildup which can cause roof blisters.
HEAT RESISTANT:
An 83% reflectance rating acts to block the flow of heat and in combination with the rigid polyurethane foam produces the most efficient roof insulation system available in the marketplace today. To enhance the life expectancy of the coating and to improve heat resistance, white or light pastel shades are recommended.
WEATHER RESISTANT:
To give optimum protection to the insulation foam, SWD 1929R Quik-Shield ® contains 100% ACRYLIC POLYMERS for durability and titanium dioxide which acts to block the deleterious effects of ultraviolet light.
It was exposed for more then 8000 hours, in a weatherometer, (equivalent to 20+ years of natural exposure) without showing any deterioration in the foam or coating.
HEAT RELEASE:
SWD 1929R Quik-Shield ® coating has ben tested and approved by Enegy Star for 95% Thermal Emittance (Heat release) in the roof.
NAVAL TEST:
In addition, since 1977, in an ongoing test by the Naval Civil Engineering Laboratory (NCEL) SWD 1929 sprayed over. SWD Foam has been subjected to natural exposure at seashore, desert and mountain test sites with the following results:
SWD 1929 was one of only 3 out of 54 coating systems rated "Excellent" at all three sites. No deterioration of coating or foam.
SWD 1929 was "recommended for use at any and all locations" as a protective coating for foam.
MILDEW RESISTANT:
Contains mildew-cides to inhibit or prevent mildew growth.
ADVANTAGES:
100% ACRYLIC POLYMERS, low pigment to polymer ratio, no plasticizers, low odor, nonpolluting (no organic solvents), water cleanup, ready to use (no catalyzing), excellent vertical hold allowing uniform build on highs and lows of foam texture.

INSTALLATION:
SWD 1929R Quik-Shield ® coating has been designed to be applied by brush, roller, or conventional airless spray equipment. Tools can be easily cleaned with a thorough water flush.
NOTES:
The foam surface should be dry, clean and free of contaminants or oxidation.
To avoid damaging the skin of the foam, operator should wear soft-soled shoes.
SWD 1929R Quik-Shield ® coating Is a high reflectance coating. It is recommended that operators wear sunglasses to avoid temporary blinding effects due to glare.
Do not apply at ambient temperatures below 50`F
The coating should be applied from (2-72) hours after the foam is installed.
CAUTION:
Do not take internally. Keep out of reach of children.
